The PC is dying, long live the PC! These headlines have been thrown around for years, as sales of laptops and desktops have continually dwindled downward.
That Smartphones are really eating into PC and laptop sales is not at all surprising given a range of reasons eg portability, connectivity, multi-functionality and more. What is more interesting is that tablets have "hit the wall" in terms of growth. It’s interesting to ponder the reasons for this and the divide between younger generations and older users who prefer the architecture of the larger screens. The blurring of the distinction between phones and tablets is maybe a product of this.
