The assumption is, of course, that students have been brought up with technology and know how to use it, and use it well. Ignoring the socio-economic fallacies of the argument, it is still false to assume students know how to use technology well.”

Rebecca Davies is, as a relatively young teacher, in a unique position to offer a perspective on the on-going problems of ascribing characteristics to generations or other groups of people. Too often definition, (the way we think about and attempt to draw together some common characteristics in a group) becomes prescription, (an expectation that all membersof the group will exhibit these characteristics).
